Privacy Policy
Effective date: 16 October 2026
Mayapur Parikrama is an independent pilgrim guide to the holy places of Navadwip Dham, made by Esteban Feldman. It is not affiliated with ISKCON Mayapur or any math. This page explains what information the app uses and why. Questions: ekagaurangadas@protonmail.com.
Your location
- The app uses your device's location on your phone to sort the holy places by distance and to centre the map on you.
- The developer does not collect or store your location.
- To show the map and walking directions, your approximate position is sent to Mapbox, the map provider, when map tiles are loaded or a route is requested.
- The Mapbox map also collects anonymous usage telemetry, which can include location, by default. You can turn Mapbox telemetry off from the ⓘ attribution button on the map. See the Mapbox privacy policy.
Usage statistics (Firebase Analytics)
- The app uses Google's Firebase Analytics to learn how it is used, so it can be improved for pilgrims.
- It records which screens are opened, which holy places are viewed or get directions requested, and when offline map caching is switched on or off. Firebase also records an app-instance identifier, your device model, operating-system version and approximate country.
- It never receives your GPS position, distances or anything you type.
- Collection is always on.
- See the Google privacy policy.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
- If the app crashes, Google's Firebase Crashlytics sends a crash report: the technical error and stack trace, device model, operating-system version and app version.
- This is always on and is used only to fix problems.
Feedback emails
If you send feedback from the app, your email app sends it, with the app version, Android version and device model filled in. Your email and its contents are used only to answer you and improve the app.
What the app does not do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No advertising.
- No selling of data, and no sharing for advertising.
- Not directed at children under 13.
How long data is kept
Firebase keeps analytics data for 14 months and crash reports for 90 days, after which they are deleted automatically. This data is not linked to your name, email or any account, so the developer cannot find or delete one person's data on request.
Changes
Any changes to this policy will be posted on this page, with a new effective date.
